David Kennison was a Lincoln Park icon in 1800s Chicago. Passing away at eighty-five, “his funeral had the largest attendance recorded at that time.” You can find Kennison’s grave on the other side of the street from the restaurant, paying homage to, “one of Chicago’s greatest con-men.” Known as one of Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood’s greatest restaurants, “The Kennison frames the north side of Hotel Lincoln and offers a fantastic option for our guests.” With a goal set, “to deliver a contemporary American menu that appeals to the foodie in everyone,” you’re sure to find something that strikes your fancy! Owner and operator Kai Togami have a childhood unlike anyone else. Raised in a secluded fishing village on the coast of Okinawa, Togami had to fend for himself when a tsunami decimated his residence in 1963. Fighting and clawing his way upon the ocean’s tide for almost thirty years, the “restless boy raised himself into a man of adventure.” Kai is happily married to his wife, Miyuki, and the two spend their time away from the restaurant, “writing poetry, drinking tea, and sailing.” Stop in and try their specials for yourself or create an account and earn rewards with your loyalty points!
